Barking Dogs Help Catch Escaped Inmate
April 18, 2012
Marco Cabrera was on the lam for nearly 24 hours before a couple of old Labradors got in the way of his freedom.
Folsom police finally caught up with Cabrera about 6:30 p.m. Monday after the dogs’ owners followed the sound of their barking and found the prisoner standing in the bed of a pickup truck.
They went inside and called police.
“He went along peacefully,” said police spokesman Sgt. Jason Browning.
In his efforts to flee, Cabrera apparently had suffered “minor injuries from blackberry bushes,” Browning said.
