Teen Makes Prom Dress From Starburst Wrappers

 Prom is a memorable night for girls. They are getting all dressed up in ball gowns, but for one teen, her dress was a fruity labor of love. That’s because it’s made out of Starburst wrappers.

Diane McNease came up with the idea of making her prom dress out of Starburst wrappers when she saw a friend folding some wrappers a year ago. It took her a year and a half to collect enough wrappers to make the corset of her dress. To go along with it, she also made matching hair bands and a purse. She says it took around 18,000 wrappers.

It took McNease five months to make the dress with the help of friends and family.

“Why don’t I combine the two together, make the top out of Starbursts and then the bottom half the ball gown, and I wanted to give the illusion that the dress was kind of falling apart, so I strung Starbursts all around,” said McNease.
