Man Who Really, Really Wanted To Go To Jail Was Granted Wish
A deputy made contact with a man in Bradenton outside the main office of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office who told her that he “wanted to go to jail” and even placed his hands behind his back after the deputy had asked him what was going on, according to an arrest affidavit at the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The man told the deputy that he didn’t have any ID as he sat on the side of the patrol car.
The deputy then asked the man if he had a warrant or something, according to the report.
When another deputy arrived, the man, later identified as Shakeem J. Fleming, stood up on the hood of the patrol car and asked, “are you going to arrest me now?” according to the report.
The 20-year-old man then reportedly began to jump up and down on the hood of the patrol car, causing about $800 worth of damage to the vehicle, the report stated.
