Woman Inspired by ‘Legally Blonde’ Runs for NY Senate
With the United States 2012 elections rapidly approaching, many Americans are wondering which politicians will be able to capture the hearts and minds of the public and, in turn, pull out victories in November.
But while President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney might be the biggest names involved in the winter battles, one New York state senatorial candidate is making some serious headlines.
Meet Mindy Meyer, a 22-year-old Orthodox Jew who is running on the Republican and Conservative tickets in New York’s 21st District election in Brooklyn. She will try to take down the incumbent, Democrat Kevin Parker.
Meyer, a resident of Flatbush, apparently has an affinity for pink, as her entire site, “MindyMeyer4Senate.com” is completely plastered in the color.
Meyer’s slogan, tatted across the top of her site in flashing diamond-like text, is “I’m Senator and I Know It” a clear reference to LMFAO’s club-banger “I’m Sexy and I Know It”.
