Passenger Takes Bite From Leather Seat
A passenger on the number 12 in Devon took a big bite out of his leather bus seat – and police have released a CCTV image of a suspect they’d like to speak to.
It’s not known whether the hungry traveller gulped down the upholstery or if he d bitten off more than he could chew, but it caused £200 worth of damage.
The suppertime snack took place at around 8.20pm on 25 May on a Stagecoach bus at Torbay Road in the resort of Paignton.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “While travelling between Paignton and Torquay on a number 12 bus, a male passenger started chewing the leather seat he was sat on and continued to pick at the hole with his hand to make further damage. Around £200 of damage was caused.”
Meanwhile a spokeswoman for Stagecoach told The Guardian the passenger had been on the bus for 20 minutes before his meal on the move. She added: “It s not the case that he ate the whole seat.”
