Showering Woman Falls Out Window, Down Shaft

August 15, 2012

A woman who was showering in her second-floor Logan Heights apartment fell through a window and into a 15-foot shaft Tuesday morning.

She landed at the bottom of the light shaft and firefighters rescued her by lifting her into a first-floor apartment window, a fire official said. The woman suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The accident occurred about 8:10 a.m. at the two-story Casa Del Sol apartment building on Commercial Street at the corner of Hensley Street.

“It was an odd or freakish type of accident,” Connor said.
