Disgruntled Employee Drives Bulldozer Into Auction House

August 30, 2012

A disgruntled employee allegedly ploughed a bulldozer into the auction house where he worked, shattering windows, destroying walls and causing a staggering $1.5 million worth of damage.

Officials are uncertain what exactly drove Lynn Benson to smash into the office at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers in Humble, Texas on Monday, but said he was ‘under pressure’ and worked long hours.

The 52-year-old, who has worked at the business for 12 years, hopped onto the bulldozer he operates as part of his regular duties and smashed through a chain link fence, police said.

He then barreled the bulldozer into the office and climbed off, leaving it inside the building. He was arrested at the scene.
