Teacher Crams 19 Children in Van
A teacher has been caught taking 19 children on a school trip – all in the same car.
Melanie Minnie was pulled over with six children in the boot, three on the front seat and the remaining ten in the back of her Renault Clio, The Sun reports.
The pupils, from Rietfontein nursery school in Gauteng, South Africa, had visited a local burger bar and were making their return journey when a concerned shopper called the police.
Officers stopped Minnie a mile from the shopping centre where they had eaten. She was apparently ferrying the second of two car-loads of children back to her nursery, telling police that she had already taken a group of 12 children the first time.
An onlooker named as Mr van Heerden said: “They were excited at first, but after a while they started to get a more worried and cried”.
