October 25, 2012
A live leopard shark was discovered thrashing around 4 miles away from the coast at a golf club in San Juan Capristrano.
A golf club marshall said he spotted the shark near the 12th tee box.
said Melissa McCormack, director of club operations at San Juan Hills believes that a bird may have scooped it out of the ocean and accidentaly dropped it when flying overhead.
The shark was found covered in blood with two wounds near its dorsal fin.
Brian Stizer, the marshall who originally found the shark, placed it on his golf cart and drove to the clubhouse where they placed the shark in some salty fresh water.
Both proceeded to take the shark back to the ocean where it swam away.
