Man Forced To Remove Up To 300 Birds From His Home
David Skeberdis, an Aurora man, has over 200 different bird sharing his home.
His bird collecting has gotten so out of control that officials have rules his home a health hazard.
The city went to court against Skeberdis and were granted permission to remove as many as 300 birds from the town home.
57 year old Skeberdis originally agreed to have the birds removed but changed his mind when he saw the price tag.
The city wants to charge him $13,000 for just the removal of the birds and he says he simply cannot afford it.
Skeberdis, a computer repair technician, is now using his vacation time to try to remove the birds from his house by friday.
A bird rescue group has provided him with cages and has agreed to take the healthy birds off his hands.
